Based in any of the following Tilray Beer breweries (Atlanta (GA), Columbus (OH), Littleton (CO), Bend (OR), Portland (OR))
Reporting to the Director, Operational Finance, the Manager, Costing is accountable for managing the product costing and margins, inventory valuations, manufacturing finance, and cost analysis activities across multiple production facilities. This role develops and maintains standard costs, analyzes manufacturing and supply chain variances, supports budgeting and forecasting, and provides actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and gross margin performance. Working closely with Brewery Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial and Finance, the Manager, Costing ensures accurate product costing, inventory reporting, and manufacturing performance measurement while supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
Keyresponsibilities
- Product Costing & Inventory Management Develop, maintain, and monitor standard costs for all SKUs, packaging formats, and production facilities. Ensure accurate costing of raw materials, packaging materials, labor, overhead, utilities, freight, and co-manufacturing activities and lead monthly cost rollups and standard cost updates. Oversee inventory valuation methodologies and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manufacturing Finance & Variance Analysis Manage monthly close activities related to inventory and cost of goods sold. Analyze and explain manufacturing variances Prepare monthly facility performance reports and KPI dashboards. Partner with brewery leadership teams to identify cost savings and operational improvements.
- Financial Management and Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Develop consistent costing policies, procedures, and reporting standards across all locations. Benchmark facility performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Lead manufacturing cost budgets and forecasts. Support annual operating plans and long-range financial planning.
- Systems, Controls & Compliance Maintain costing accuracy within ERP systems. Participate as a subject matter expert in ERP implementations, upgrades, and process transformation initiatives. Ensure strong controls over inventory, manufacturing costs, and COGS reporting. Drive continuous improvement in costing methodologies, reporting tools, and business processes.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. CPA, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
ExperienceExperience 4-7+ years of progressive cost accounting, or manufacturing accounting experience. Experience with in beverage alcohol, brewing, food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related manufacturing industries. Experience supporting multiple production facilities. Strong understanding of standard costing and inventory accounting. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, JDE, Oracle, or Net Suite. Experience with ERP implementations, a definite asset.
