We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function for Superior Rigging & Erecting. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as the senior accounting leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and control of the company's financial reporting and accounting operations.

This is a true Controller role with clear ownership of accounting. You will lead the monthly close, general ledger, construction accounting, job costing, work-in-progress reporting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, internal controls, audit preparation, and development of the accounting team.

The Controller and Chief Financial Officer have separate and distinct responsibilities. The Controller owns the company's accounting function and financial reporting integrity. The Chief Financial Officer owns broader enterprise finance, financial strategy, forecasting, capital planning, treasury, banking, bonding, and executive financial leadership.

This is a full-time, in-person position based at our corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates must be willing and able to work onsite. Relocation may be considered; however, there is currently no relocation assistance or relocation package associated with this position.

This is not a Controller role where you will simply maintain an established accounting process. You will have the opportunity to:

• Improve construction accounting, job costing, work-in-progress reporting, and project financial visibility.
• Build stronger accounting controls, processes, and accountability across the organization.
• Partner directly with the Chief Financial Officer and senior operational leadership.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
• Improve the quality and reliability of financial information used to operate the business.
• Help build scalable accounting systems and processes that support long-term growth.

• Lead the company's accounting function and maintain accountability for accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close processes.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure balance sheet accounts are properly reconciled and supported.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting financial information.
• Lead construction accounting, including job costing, project cost allocation, work-in-progress reporting, revenue recognition, retainage, and over billings and under billing's.
• Review project financial information and partner with project management and operations to ensure costs, contract values, change orders, estimates, and projected margins are accurately reflected.
• Identify unusual project costs, margin changes, billing issues, or financial variances and ensure they are investigated and resolved.
• Ensure appropriate revenue recognition for project-based contracts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable accounting standards.
• Provide accounting leadership and oversight for accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, cash application, and related accounting processes.
• Maintain appropriate controls over vendor setup, invoice approval, payment processing, credits, write-offs, journal entries, and other financial transactions.
• Oversee fixed asset and equipment accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, transfers, capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
