FUNCTION:
This function is responsible for support and assistance to all Underwriters, Underwriting Managers, and Division Leaders. The role will provide Underwriting assistance throughout all service levels of the policy life cycle, from submission receipt through issuance of the policy, including post-issuance activity throughout the policy term.
ROLE OVERVIEW:This role interacts closely with the Underwriting team and appointed Brokerage partners. Success in the role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy to detail, and the ability to comprehend, organize, and manage high volumes of documentation. In addition, this role requires a demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while working in a hybrid team environment. This position is a hybrid model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
RESPONSBILITIES:UNDERWRITING SUPPORT:
- Review and process bind requests and issuance of policies within established SLAs
- Coordinate with agents and brokers to gather additional information or clarification needed to bind or issue requested policies, when processing endorsement requests, and the collection of outstanding underwriting documentation to complete the underwriting file.
- Prepare and issue insurance policies, ensuring all policy documents are accurate and comply with regulatory requirements
- Maintain underwriting files, ensuring all documentation is added in appropriate time periods, organize with appropriate document labeling
- Assist in the development and updating of department guidelines, criteria, and tools to improve efficiency within the team
- Process legal notices through ODEN with appropriate task logging onto the appropriate tracker with correct entry to complete the endorsement as of the effective date on the legal notice.
- Handle all servicing task types supported by the Service Delivery department
- Accurate and efficient handling of assignments meeting established SLAs
- Participate in departmental team meetings, providing desk status and feedback on any challenges or software issues
- Additional duties as business needs change
- Minimum 1-year experience working in commercial insurance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Pro, and the ability to work with multi-faceted systems.
- Excellent written, communication, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Property & Casualty Insurance knowledge a plus
