This role provides hands-on coordination, administrative support, and communications assistance that help keep our firmwide initiatives running smoothly and effectively.

This position reports to the Director of Pro Bono & Community Engagement and the Director of Professional Development, and works closely with attorneys, business professionals, nonprofit partners, and local office liaisons across the firm. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and mission-driven, with a genuine interest in access to justice and community service – and is excited to work with people and projects that make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the intake, opening, tracking, and closing of pro bono matters in firm systems, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for internal and external pro bono inquiries, routing requests as appropriate.
  • Support planning and coordination of pro bono clinics, volunteer activities, training, and service initiatives (virtual and in-person).
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, including Marketing, Professional Development, and IT to support program needs.
  • Track attorney participation and engagement, including hours and matter status, to support internal reporting, surveys, and recognition efforts.
  • Assist with transitions of pro bono matters related to attorney arrivals, departures, or role changes.
  • Maintain organized electronic records, calendars and timelines related to key program activities and deadlines.

Coordinate Community & Partner Engagement

  • Support relationships with legal services organizations, nonprofits, and community partners, including coordinating logistics, communications, and follow-up.
  • Assist with onboarding new partner organizations and maintaining up-to-date partner organization information.
  • Engage regularly with FP Cares leads and local office pro bono liaisons to support office-level initiatives and firmwide programs.

Contribute to Communications, Recognition & Reporting

  • Draft initial versions of internal communications highlighting CLE, pro bono, and community engagement opportunities, events, and accomplishments.
  • Support submissions for awards, surveys, and external recognition related to pro bono and community engagement work.
  • Prepare and submit CLE reports to the relevant internal and external parties.

Support CLE Programs and Administration

  • Participate in CLE planning and status meetings with the Marketing team to ensure effective coordination and delivery of related programs.
  • Generate and distribute CLE attendance certificates using provided templates.
  • Assist in responding to general inquiries related to CLE compliance, licensing, and jurisdiction-specific rules and procedures.
  • Compile, organize and maintain attendee records and assist with pre and post-event data entry and records.
  • Respond to requests for past certificates and correct basic clerical errors as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a legal services organization, nonprofit, law firm, or other professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in pro bono, access to justice, and/or community engagement work.
  • Familiarity with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs or similar programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and business professionals at all levels.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, social media tools and communications, and demonstrated interest in learning and adapting to new technology.
