OverviewThe Office of University Advancement – Alumni seeks a Development Associate (Temp) to provide comprehensive support in board and event management, alumni relations, administrative operations, and financial duties.

This position will provide support to the Office of University Advancement – Alumni at Georgia State University.
Duties and Responsibilities Board and Event Management (25%)- Creating and managing board meeting schedules, invitations, Webex links, and agendas.
- Testing board/committee technology a day prior to each meeting and preparing backup plans.
- Recording, typing, and transcribing accurate minutes within one week of each meeting.
- Maintaining a directory of board members, committees, and groups with start and end dates in ASCEND.
- Acting as a point of contact between board members and the leader of board relations.
- Maintaining legal and governance documents and ensuring adherence to institutional and regulatory guidelines.
- Assisting with board logistics, including venue location, reservations, catering, and AV/technical needs.
- Managing logistics for commencement ceremonies (e.g., graduation banners).
- Monitoring and responding to alumni emails and phone calls; routing inquiries to appropriate departments.
- Corresponding with alumni personnel and scheduling one‑on‑one engagement appointments.
- Maintaining communication with alumni for social events such as Homecoming, Senior Brunch, and Third Thursdays.
- Managing calendars for the Associate Vice Presidents:
Alumni. - Preparing contact reports for AVPs and others when time permits.
- Processing mail and deliveries, including financial transactions and verification.
- Placing office supply orders for AVP offices.
- Processing membership/donation payments through cash or credit card.
- Collaborating with the accountant on specific financial tasks and record‑keeping for board‑related events and donations.
- Providing general administrative support to staff and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Managing logistical details for the office, such as room setup and cleanup.
- Supporting other office tasks as necessary, based on staff meetings and staff member needs.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience with ASCEND software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Attention to detail, customer service skills, professionalism, and adaptability.
