Administrative Specialist II College of Law Georgia State University Law Department The Center for Clinical Learning is a collaboration of live client clinics within the College of Law, whose function is to facilitate and oversee student experience in the areas of experiential learning, client representation and law practice management. The Center is a law firm within the College of Law through which students provide legal assistance under the direct supervision of law school faculty.

The Center for Clinical Learning is a high volume, high demand area with five Clinics that support student learning and provide free legal representation to qualifying members of the public. The Administrative Specialist is responsible for various tasks related to program management and works closely with the Center's Administrative Manager, Administrative Specialists, faculty and students. This position is part of the team that supports eight full-time attorneys, three full-time staff attorneys, and 50-100 student attorneys per semester (including some students over the summer) in serving over 300 clients per year in a fast-paced law firm environment.

To support students in the part-time evening program, this position will be in the office from approximately 2:30-9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for general administrative functions, including, but are not limited to:
Clinical Program Administration:
First line of customer service for clinics, answering and directing calls for clinics, greeting visitors, and arranging meeting space. Organizing and managing a variety of assignments with strong attention to detail. Opening and closing of office suite as well as maintaining common areas. Maintaining and updating standard operating procedures for law firm operations manuals for separate practice areas. Assisting with case intake and administrative processing of client matters.

Managing a variety of sensitive and confidential documents. Assisting with scheduling meetings, training, and clinic-related events. Student Services Responsibilities:
Coordinating clinic recruitment, applications, student enrollment, and records. Tracking student eligibility, participation hours, and clinic requirements. Training students on the use of office equipment, electronic filing systems, and communication software. Coordinating communication between students, faculty, and community partners. Communicating professionally with students, clients, and others. Benefits – The University System of Georgia (USG) provides comprehensive benefits to Georgia State employees.

Your retirement benefit is calculated by factoring years of service, final salary and 2% multiplier. Employees are vested after 10 years.

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) -- Full-time employees enrolled in a USG degree program may earn their degree for free.
