Description
The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the general administration of the shipping and receiving functions for venues, exhibitor kit coordination, and the verification and recording of food and non-food items into inventory, per guideline.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements
High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Management or a related field Preferred)
Experience- Minimum (2) years’ experience in shipping and receiving, administrative/clerical position, or equivalent related field.
- Excellent organizational skills; must maintain clean and orderly spaces to include office space.
- Solid understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
- Demonstrated independent decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as professionalism and positive interactions with all encounters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must report to building, work from home is not an option for this position.
- Ex. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.
- After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis.
- Active position with some sedentary time
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to squat, bend, climb, stoop, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Ability to withstand cold and hot temperatures.
- Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with unscheduled events, changed priorities, and incomplete information.
- Displays initiative in looking for and taking advantage of new opportunities.
- Exhibits competence in required job skills and knowledge
- Has good judgment. Balances long and short-term impact of a decision and consistently develops sound solutions in determining courses of action.
- Strong organizational skills while managing timeliness, prioritizing tasks, scheduling and project management.
- Anticipates and responds to problems in a professional manner. Skillfully gathers and analyzes information before making decisions.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and achieves goals.
