Job Summary
Position:
Administrative Manager I – Atlanta, Georgia. Reports to the Director of Business Operations. Responsible for transactional HR administration for staff and faculty positions, along with broader administrative operations across OUESS and its reporting units within a centralized model. Focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, and day‑to‑day operational support while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Supervise and coordinate administrative services for a small to moderate campus unit or a larger unit’s services function.
- Develop and implement unit administrative processes and procedures consistent with Institute policy.
- Define and communicate administrative staff duties; monitor performance and provide feedback.
- Supervise the maintenance of unit financial records.
- Oversee human resources administration, including transaction processing, time reporting, and records maintenance.
- Supervise and coordinate direct administrative support to unit management and organize unit records management.
- Coordinate unit purchasing activities, including preparation of documents, ordering, and maintaining supplies.
- Schedule and organize meetings and other events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four to five years of job‑related experience.
- MBA or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources or HR Management).
- SHRM certification.
- At least three years of professional experience focused on HR/Finance/Administrative Support.
- Professional experience in a research university setting.
- Relevant experience in people and team management.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of office administrative processes, records management, and event planning.
- Familiarity with HR and operational functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, and related areas.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook or equivalent scheduling systems.
- Experience with Work Day Financial, OneUSG, or other HR systems.
- Ability to learn emerging AI‑enabled tools and apply them in HR operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage sensitive information in an executive‑level environment.
- Customer‑service orientation, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Strong prioritization and time‑management abilities.
- Team‑building and relationship‑management skills.
- Project‑management experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Advanced MS Outlook or similar calendar/scheduling system.
- Work Day Financial and/or other financial systems.
- OneUSG and/or other HR systems.
- Familiarity with emerging AI‑enabled tools and their application in HR operations.
- Adaptability to new software skills.
Job Grade: A8
Pay Range: $56,679.00 – $77,086.00 per year (starting at $56,679.00).
