Job SummaryUnder general supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties for assigned functions or program areas, duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, reports, or presentations. Represents program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
JobSpecific Duties
Under close-to-general supervision, provides a variety of routine non-clerical general business support functions for an institution, centralized district/regional office, a section/division of an office in an agency or a similar entity. Typical support functions include a combination of routine accounting (posting, reconciliation) and/or budget development and monitoring, personnel and payroll transactions, purchasing and inventory, records management and/or related areas. May supervise a small number of clerical, technical, maintenance or other staff.
May serve as an assistant to a higher level administrative manager.
State Entry
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience
- or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST
050) or equivalent

- Experience organizing and coordinating meetings, facilities, and information for staff members
- Experience providing assistance and disseminating information to customers
- Experience in receiving and responding to verbal communications in an appropriate manner
- Communicates effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other internal or external customers
- Ability to communicate accurate information
- Committed to providing quality customer service
- Displays a high level of effort and commitment toward work and displays high standards of ethical conduct
- General knowledge of interrelationships among department work units
- Ability to provide guidance to internal and external customers
- Demonstrated ability to do research and prepare reports

Preferred Qualifications
- Bookkeeping and/or accounting related experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and People Soft Financials
- Experience working in a similar government environment providing administrative support to a legal team
- Experience using electronic time keeping computer programs
- Experience using word, excel, and other various computer programs
- Experience running reports and queries
