Position: Executive Admin Assist 1- Capitol Police

Position Summary

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees the day-to‑day operation of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police, and the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVE). We have an opening for an Executive Administrative Assistant 1 in the Capitol Police Division. The position provides executive‑level administrative support to the Director of the Capitol Police Division and secretarial support to officers and employees in the Division.

Compensation

$57,250.00

Responsibilities
  • Conduct extensive research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects, and accurately respond to questions and concerns.
  • Analyze problems, questions, issues, etc., and develop and report recommendations for resolving them.
  • Assist the Director in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects.
  • Act as liaison with outside organizations to gather or report program‑related information.
  • Organize and coordinate the efficient function of the program or agency.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, conferences, seminars, and travel calendars.
  • Provide program, administrative, and/or technical assistance to customers and staff.
  • Research and resolve detailed program or client issues/questions and prepare documents.
  • Represent the manager in various matters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of the Internet, e‑mail, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Successful experience providing administrative support for a unit that dealt with sensitive and/or confidential matters.
  • Experience in an office setting with excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Experience composing and formatting correspondence and other documents.
  • Good time‑management skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to use discretion, diplomacy, sound judgment, and solve problems independently.
  • Experience in senior‑level functions such as research and interaction with senior‑level management.
  • Experience preparing meeting agendas, planning meetings, and managing calendars.
  • 2–3 years of executive‑level experience.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of professional‑level job‑related experience in an administration‑related field.
