Job SummaryThe part-time Receptionist for the Office of the President serves as the first point of contact for the President's Office and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, professional, and service-oriented experience for all visitors, employees, students, and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for managing the reception area, greeting and directing students, employees, guests, answering and routing telephone calls, coordinating general office communications, and providing administrative support to ensure the efficient daily operation of the President's Office.
The Receptionist exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates exceptional customer service, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Serve as the primary point of contact, providing customer serve to students, employees, visitors, community and stakeholders.
- Manage the day-to-day operations in department, including phone calls and e-mails, opening and distribution of mail as requested, the greeting of visitors, and determine those requiring priority attention.
- Serves as liaison between department the campus, as well external stakeholders.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls and respond to general inquiries.
- Monitor the reception area Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and other correspondences as deem appropriate.
- Greet and assist visitors to determine the nature of the visit and provide accurate direction.
- Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisors.
Minimum: Education:
High school diploma
Experience:
Minimum of two years (2) experience as receptionist or related support role (or) combination of education and experience
Associate's degree, three years (3) experience as Administrative Assistant / Receptionist Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate:
- Proficiency in computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.
- Displays professionalism for the college in all communication and interaction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to prioritize and organize numerous assignments; manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to make decisions which range from moderate to a significant impact on the immediate work environment.
- Strong organizational & problem solving skills.
- Communicate effectively.
