Position Overview
The Receptionist provides general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, mail distribution, the flow of correspondence, as well as additional clerical duties. The receptionist will be responsible for controlling the entrance to the school through the gate and the visitors’ door, and greeting and directing visitors.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM (Hourly, Non-Exempt)
Educational Requirements
- Two years of customer service experience, preferably in an office or school environment
- HIgh School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Google Drive
- Able to work with minimum supervision and multi-task
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Pleasant demeanor
- Ability to remember faces and names of parents and students
- Ability to resolve unexpected problems with special attention to the welfare of the students
- Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Answers telephone and directs the caller to the appropriate faculty or staff
- Greets and directs school visitors
- Receives, sorts and distributes mail daily
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents, faculty, and staff
- Performs a variety of clerical duties
- Prepares and distributes attendance reports
- Enters tardy children in the attendance program
- Maintains knowledge of all calendar of events
- Sells lunch tickets
- Welcomes and directs SOA artists and vendors to parent volunteer contacts
- Makes overhead announcements as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned

This position reports to the Administrative Assistant to the Head of School.
