Overview

The Strategic Market Planning & Analytics team at Kaiser Permanente is seeking dynamic team members to support and enable National Health Plan business strategies, growth initiatives, and performance monitoring. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams across the organization to identify growth opportunities, foster alignment, and drive strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategies, analyzing data to inform business decisions, identifying and monitoring performance measures, accelerating growth, and leading communication and change management efforts.

Job Summary

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position is also responsible for managing business strategy and/or initiative planning by developing a new organizational strategy process and coordinating key players for leadership strategy conversations; facilitating leadership decision making by leveraging advanced knowledge of the external marketplace and relevant tools (i.e., dashboards to track metrics); coordinating strategy community of practices by facilitating knowledge sharing across functions and entities to identify the right strategic priorities;

developing frameworks to facilitate strategy development by leveraging Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT) and gap analyses to ensure that strategic opportunities are correctly identified; prioritizing strategic choices through enterprise processes and market operational plans to establish management incentives; and providing ongoing initiative management and prioritization in real time through performance monitoring using relevant tools (i.e., dashboards, scorecards, leader reviews).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and interprets market data by: developing and implementing a plan to address moderately complex research questions and test hypotheses with advanced knowledge of data collection and analysis; performing moderately complex quantitative and qualitative analyses and investigating alternative hypotheses; and ensuring interpretation of key findings, conclusions, and recommendations for the future.
  • Facilitates process improvement efforts by: ensuring the implementation of updated processes and beginning to identify opportunities to adapt processes to improve return on investment (ROI), operations, service quality, and results for initiatives across teams; utilizing moderately advanced knowledge of business operations to ensure the implementation of best practices across teams; and encouraging adoption of best practices and future innovations.
  • Effectively manages projects and programs by: assembling project moderately complex proposals, including establishing objectives, key stakeholders, milestones, projecting required resources and timelines; ensuring progress on project deliverables in alignment with greater business strategy across a function; utilizing existing methodologies to complete initiatives with little support; and ensuring the execution of project plan, contributing to high-quality outcomes.
