Description- The Associate Director of Business Development supports the Task Force for Global Health's revenue diversification and expansion of funders by supporting cross‑programmatic business development initiatives, operating management platforms, and developing and refining knowledge management systems.
- Oversees prospect research efforts to identify funding opportunities for the organization in government, philanthropy and business sectors.
- The position coordinates closely with Integrated Program Services teams such as External Relations, Information Technology Services Team, and Finance, as well as technical program teams to develop prospects and manage all aspects of proposal development collaboratively.
- The position works under the broad guidance of the Director of Business Development. This role requires a strong understanding of proposal development processes, project management and public health.
- The ideal candidate also will have a proven resource mobilization track record and hands‑on program management and global development experience.
- Maintains and refines the business development and funding opportunity pipeline, ensuring accurate tracking, timely updates, and effective communication with internal teams.
- Coordinates proposal development processes, including all aspects (technical, financial, and legal components) to ensure timely and high‑quality inputs, using in‑house tools and color review processes.
- Conducts or oversees donor, competitor, and market research and monitors resource mobilization landscapes to inform positioning, capture planning, and proposal strategies.
- Supports partner and consortium development by identifying potential partners, collecting required documentation, and assessing alignment and basic eligibility.
- Participates in donor cultivation meetings and manages internal follow‑up and development of written submissions to advance cultivation efforts with programs.
- Drafts, reviews, and manages proposal components and supporting documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with donor requirements.
- Supports internal review processes by tracking feedback, revisions, and version control throughout proposal development.
- Contributes to the development of proposal components such as technical approaches, results frameworks, work plans, and budgets, under guidance.
- Assists with editing, formatting, and final packaging of proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest for submission.
- Collaborates with the Task Force Office of the President, Integrated Program Services, and Program Technical Teams to support strategic donor engagement, partner coordination, and follow‑up activities.
- Helps ensure excellence in the quality of team products and helps to ensure a high degree of internal client satisfaction and transparency in business development operations.
- As resources permit, travels to conferences to engage donors and/or support program teams to cultivate new relationships and donor opportunities.
- Supervises consultant and some staff activities, such as budget development, prospect reporting, writing review, and tracking active proposal activity in the organization as well as outcomes of bids and diversification trends.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- A bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience in business development, proposal development, grants management, or program development within public health or international development organizations, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A master's degree in public health, international development, global health, social sciences, public policy, or a related field is preferred.
