Category Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking a Category Specialist to support a major organization in the healthcare and life sciences industry for a 12-month hybrid contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. The Category Specialist will assist with sourcing activities, supplier coordination, and category support across a variety of procurement initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Category Specialist include:

* Support category projects by gathering market insights, supplier data, and spend information.

* Assist with sourcing events using procurement platforms such as AREVA and Globality.

* Help evaluate supplier submissions and contribute to recommendation summaries.

* Track deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements across ongoing procurement activities.

* Collaborate with internal teams to identify workflow improvements and enhance procurement efficiency.

Qualifications for the Category Specialist include:

* 3-5 years of hands‑on procurement or sourcing experience within a corporate environment.

* Experience using digital sourcing tools such as AREVA, Globality, or similar platforms.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.

* Background supporting bidding processes, supplier reviews, or category‑related projects.

* Bachelor's degree preferred, though relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree.

Compensation for the Category Specialist:

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000/year
