Assist the enrichment team engage residents with an enriched lifestyle by creating, coordinating and executing programs, events, excursions which support whole person wellness and well-being. This position is responsible for delivering engaging and safe programming that appeals to the age, physical or cognitive condition of the resident and which supports Lenbrook’s mission. The Programs and Excursions Coordinator will be able to suggest / apply accommodations to enable the resident to fully participate, to the extent possible, in programming.
Serves as a professional liaison between Enrichment department and residents, business partners, and guests.
- Accurately populates the monthly independent living programs and events calendar for timely distribution in designated communication channels. According to the monthly calendar, creates and posts sign-up sheets for each event or program which requires resident head count. Sign-up sheets provide accurate detail regarding walking requirements, costs, billing detail, description, menu and other pertinent information.
- Plans and executes resident excursions, including billing/collecting payments within a 48-hour period, transportation, ticket arrangements, restaurant reservations, accompanying residents on trips, developing trip lists, and consistent communication/planning with the resident chair for the excursion committee.
- Helps Enrichment team to design and plan programs and events and assists with follows up to evaluate number of participants, expenses, and overall program effectiveness;
- Coordinates, promotes and executes programs and events, including, but not limited to, selecting/scheduling/ paying in-house entertainment and/or speakers; coordinates room arrangements and reservations, audiovisual and other relevant equipment needs.
- Monitors expenditures for compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Promotes events through a variety of mediums, including submissions to the Spotlight, flyers, TV calendar, hard copy calendar etc.
- Solicits and responds to residents’ requests for programs, events, workshops, and special events and communicates this information using the proper channels.
- Monitors supplies to ensure the programs and events department has adequate and appropriate supplies to support departmental operations.
- Contributes extensively toward achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Must have a working knowledge of whole person wellness and resident centered care.
