Waste Operations Analyst

The Waste Operations Analyst is an entry-level position that supports commercial and specialized waste operations through data analysis, research, and administrative support. Responsibilities

• Support the analysis of commercial and specialized waste programs to identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
• Collect, organize, and review operational, financial, and service data from multiple sources to support decision-making.
• Assist with evaluating vendor pricing, service levels, utilization, and contract information to ensure value and compliance.
• Support cost reduction and service optimization initiatives by following established company procedures and guidelines.
• Assist with specialized waste projects involving hazardous, non-hazardous, and other regulated waste streams while adhering to company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports, maintain accurate documentation, and update customer and vendor information within company systems.
• Utilize company-approved software and analytical tools, including reporting platforms and video analysis tools, to support operational reviews and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Vendor Management, Customer Management, and other internal departments to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the broader operations and business needs.

Essential Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Environmental Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and data sources accurately.
• Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support operational decisions.
• Ability to learn technical processes, business systems, and relevant regulatory requirements related to waste operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong written communication skills for preparing reports and documentation.
• Strong verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Foundational data analysis skills applicable to operational and financial information.
• Internship or entry-level experience in operations, logistics, transportation, environmental services, business analysis, or a related field.
• Experience with ERP systems to support operational and financial data management.
• Experience with CRM software to assist with customer information and relationship management.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment with a schedule of five days per week on site. The position relies heavily on the use of computers, company-approved software, and analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, reporting platforms, video analysis tools, and enterprise systems such as ERP and CRM applications. The work involves frequent collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, Vendor Management, and Customer Management, requiring regular communication and coordination.
