Lead Product Manager

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 8+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 5+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Manages the development and execution of product concepts, designs, and enhancements for one or more functional areas, including supporting the innovation of product practices and processes. Engages end users and stakeholders to build business cases, develop key performance indicators, and launch capabilities for assigned products.

• Develops and leads the product strategy for one or more functional areas, including creating the vision for assigned projects, conducting market research and planning, designing concepts and user cases, and completing feasibility analyses.
• Builds business cases for product ideas and oversees the coordination of systems and solutions across multiple products and projects.
• Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and documents business requirements on products and services offered by competitors in order to understand market needs and user pain points to create product solutions.
• Works with cross-functional teams to design, specify, document, prioritize, and execute product vision, including obtaining alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders and management.
• Manages product launch materials, including user documentation, marketing collateral, and demonstrations.
• Measures and reports product performance and quality while continuously optimizing the customer experience.
• Makes periodic visits to field locations, trade shows, and technical conferences to gather market intelligence and feedback.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and feedback to junior product managers.

Makes prompt, sound decisions when faced with complex and often contradictory alternatives that result in successful outcomes. Operates with considerable latitude. Situations may have little or no precedent requiring original or new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions under conditions of uncertainty.

Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems; cross-departmental considerations are often present.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
