Job Type: Part‑time
Pay: $12.00 – $14.00 per hour
Responsibilities- Provide children with a safe and healthy riding experience.
- Drop off and pick up children from the center, homes, and local elementary schools following the pre‑assigned route and schedule.
- Follow all traffic safety laws and the specific requirements for each school’s drop‑off and pick‑up processes.
- Interact with and oversee school‑age children during both indoor and outdoor activities as required by the program.
- Assume primary responsibility for developing a schedule, structured activities, and providing guidance and homework assistance for school‑aged children.
- Work assigned hours consistently, be punctual, and maintain a warm, friendly personality with exemplary customer‑service skills.
- Keep children engaged throughout before‑school and after‑school periods.
- Use excellent organizational, classroom‑management, and time‑management skills to handle confidential information and communicate effectively.
- Work with staff, children, and families from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
- Manage daily tasks in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment while paying close attention to details.
- Be available Monday through Friday from 6:30 am–8:00 am for before‑care pick‑up/drop‑off and 1:30 pm–4:30 pm for after‑school pick‑up/drop‑off, with occasional availability for field trips outside these windows.
- Participate in mandatory monthly staff meetings.
- Be 25 years of age or older (for insurance purposes).
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent driving record.
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds as needed in daily activities and emergency situations.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current age‑appropriate CPR/First Aid certification.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Stay current with all licensing and company policies and procedures.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a 16‑passenger van. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. At least three months of experience in a childcare setting working directly with school‑age children. Candidates with driving experience and who have earned a CDA, TCC, or TCD are preferred but not required.
Required Documentation- Completed application, cover letter and current résumé with references.
- In‑person interview (upon request).
- Orientation and training (upon job offer).
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting (upon job offer).
- Current CPR and First Aid for pediatrics and adults.
- Impeccable traffic and driving history.
- 2‑hour transportation safety training.
Reliability, accuracy, and thoroughness of work performed; interaction with team members, students, and families; building trust with children and families in the program.

Work RelationshipReport to Center and/or Project Directors. Work closely with other members of the Day‑Star Team.
