One of my best clients is looking for a seasoned Lead Superintendent to add to the team - this will be for projects local to Atlanta and will require no travel outside the greater Atlanta area. The ideal candidate will have a project portfolio and track record of leading successful $25MM and up commercial projects.

The Superintendent is responsible for the on-site management, scheduling, coordination, and supervision of all field operations for projects within the local market. This role ensures successful project execution by maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and client satisfaction. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, overseeing subcontractors, enforcing company standards, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Coordination- Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project close-out.
- Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Maintain the project schedule and oversee short-interval “look-ahead” scheduling.
- Conduct daily and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, company procedures, and quality requirements.
- Promote and enforce the company’s safety culture on site.
- Implement site-specific safety plans and conduct daily safety briefings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Document and address safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions promptly.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and contract documents.
- Identify issues early and collaborate with the project team to resolve them proactively.
- Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, testing, and field reports.
- Maintain daily logs, progress photos, manpower reports, and other field documentation.
- Review and track RFIs, submittals, change directives, and as-built drawings.
- Communicate field conditions to the Project Manager to support timely decision-making.
- Assist with punchlist development and completion to support efficient project close-out.
- Represent the company professionally to owners, architects, inspectors, and local authorities.
- Communicate progress, issues, and expectations clearly and consistently.
- Support positive relationships that strengthen the company’s reputation in the local market.
- Oversee jobsite logistics, including deliveries, laydown areas, site signage, and safety fencing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite.
- Manage temporary utilities, equipment, and jobsite facilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- 9+ years of field experience with a general contractor with demonstrated upward career progression
- Demonstrated success delivering large ground up commercial projects, ideally $25MM and up minimum
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and building codes.
- Proficiency with construction technology platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
