Position SummaryThe Construction Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are strictly followed, and work proceeds on schedule and within budget. The role is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors on the critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Perform quality control duties for the work being performed.
- Communicate with project team regarding ASIs, RFIs, and material submittals.
- Ensure subcontractor fully executes and complies with their contracted scope of work.
- Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
- Identify subcontractor non‑compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team for resolution.
- Maintain a written daily log of activities on the job site.
- Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by the project team.
- Walk all units on the project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate work.
- Issue notices of non‑compliance to subcontractors regarding quality of work or scheduling.
- Ensure the job site is always kept clean and organized.
- Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
- Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
- Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions.
- Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job site.
- Identify areas of work outside of subcontracted scope.
- Open the job site at the beginning of the day and secure it at the end.
- Identify deficient work and provide resolution and blueprint reading.
- Minimum 7–10 years of verifiable experience with thorough knowledge of trades.
- Experience in mission‑critical construction is preferred.
- Experience in all phases of construction, including civil earthwork, formwork, rebar, concrete, structural, drainage, etc.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be willing to travel up to approximately 50% of the time and occasionally work evenings/weekends if necessary.
- Management of MEP trades experience.
- Procore and Bluebeam preferred.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project & Outlook) preferred.
No certificates or licenses required.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesProject Superintendent shall supervise all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors daily, ensuring adequate manpower for each task and compliant work. This position is also responsible for monitoring project security personnel.
Physical DemandsOccasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent use of hands and arms, single or multiple close vision and ability to adjust focus and see color. Requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity to operate office equipment, normal hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate written or online documentation. Involves frequent contact with staff, frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
SalarySalary negotiable.
Pay Range: $98,891 – $148,392 per year
