Senior Purchasing Agent

I am seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Agent to join a growing home builder in the Metro Atlanta area. This role is responsible for managing procurement activities, vendor relationships, and cost controls across multiple residential construction projects. The ideal candidate brings strong industry knowledge, negotiation expertise, and the ability to drive value while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.
MUST HAVE PURCHASING EXPERIENCE IN HOMEBUILDING!

• Lead the purchasing process for new home construction, including sourcing, bidding, and contract negotiation
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
• Analyze bids and ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards
• Prepare and execute subcontract agreements and purchase orders
• Collaborate with construction, estimating, and land teams to support project timelines and budgets
• Monitor material costs and market trends to proactively manage pricing and supply risks
• Ensure all contracts and vendor agreements align with company standards and legal requirements
• Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies and process improvements
• Track and report on cost savings, budgets, and variances

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of purchasing experience within residential homebuilding
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and subcontractor trades
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
• Experience with purchasing or ERP systems (e.g., BRIX, Build Pro, etc.)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
