Job SummaryBy joining our BV Construction group, you will develop and enhance your skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. Functions include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, startup and decommissioning, and field engineering.
Responsibility: coordinate construction on the project, ensuring compliance with schedule, safety, cost, and quality, working closely with the Site Manager. This field assignment requires travel.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate all on‑site subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with the CPM schedule and subcontract requirements.
- Manage site access coordination.
- Implement the Project Construction Execution Plan and supervise/mentor all superintendents, monitoring their activities and providing leadership.
- Monitor and report construction productivity and schedule performance, including trends, to the Site Manager and Field Project Controls Manager.
- Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements, directing the establishment and implementation of subcontractor schedule recovery plans.
- Coordinate Construction Completion Walkdowns and hand over startup packages to the Startup Manager; supervise punch‑list closeout.
- Assist Site Manager with client interface and relations.
- Coordinate with the Materials Manager to review site‑procured materials for acceptance.
- Perform periodic field audits of Owner‑supplied equipment storage.
- Review and approve T&M contracting equipment and coordinate shared use.
- Participate in the monthly contractor management meeting; conduct meetings if Project Field Manager is unavailable.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and manage weekly schedule and commodity installation status.
- Monitor extra work authorization requests, back charges, and payment requests, ensuring timely tracking for Project Controls.
- Adhere to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance management programs.
- Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and complete the construction punch‑list.
- Act as Safety Representative on site in the absence of the regular Safety Supervisor; possess general knowledge of all construction disciplines.
- Resolve safety and quality issues with the safety and quality managers.
- Defer disputes to the Site Manager and stand in for the Site Manager in their absence.
- Understand commercial and deliverable terms of the construction subcontracts and manage within these terms.
- Monitor and control overtime for substitutes and subcontractors.
- Write the construction portion of the client and construction monthly report.
- Coordinate with Field Engineers or home‑office engineers on engineering deliverables.
- Manage construction Manufacturer's Service Technicians and timesheet tracking.
- Identify and assess improvement opportunities to add value.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts and support staff in engaging in improvement activities.
- Supervise superintendents.
Knowledge of construction technology (Simple Cycle, Combined Cycle, Circulating Fluidized Bed, Nuclear); EPC industry experience; constructability knowledge; project budget process and tools; department budget process and tools; project controls; risk assessment/management; administrative policies and procedures; construction project management systems; conceptual planning; conflict management skills; leadership ability (team building, coaching, mentoring, change management, advising); multi‑tasking ability; presentation skills; problem solving skills; project management skills;
