We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the successful execution of retail and grocery store construction projects based out of Atlanta, Georgia. This individual will be responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground-up and renovation projects within the retail, grocery, supermarket, or big-box sectors and be comfortable traveling throughout the Southeast to support project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day field operations for retail and grocery construction projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate project logistics, material deliveries, and site access requirements.
- Work closely with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
- Identify and proactively resolve construction challenges to minimize project delays.
- Maintain project documentation, daily reports, and progress updates.
- Lead project meetings and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on retail, grocery, supermarket, or commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience managing occupied renovations, store remodels, or ground-up retail developments.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and field coordination.
- Experience working with grocery chains, supermarkets, retail stores, or big-box retailers preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Travel Requirements
This position is based in Atlanta, GA; however, candidates should be willing to travel throughout the Southeastern United States as project needs dictate.
