Job Description
AECOM has a need for Electrical Inspector to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District at Fort Benning, GA.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight of the contractor to ensure compliance with contract requirements and standards, including evaluation of inspection level, testing procedures, and documentation of deficiency correction, in accordance with the USACE 3‑Phase inspection program.
- Document compliance with construction standards and specifications.
- Complete and maintain records of field observations, daily reports outlining the work performed, field measurements, and computations.
- Participate in technical review of submittals and development plans to ensure conformity to USACE standards and specifications.
- Document observations and inspections of construction, including discrepancy notices for non‑compliant items.
- Attend construction progress meetings and contractor’s weekly project meetings.
- Perform infrastructure walk‑throughs and develop punch lists as required.
- Work to resolve conflicts with construction installation.
- Provide construction photographs as required to document progress and problem areas.
- Ensure that safety regulations, USACE regulations, and building codes were considered and followed during the construction of utility equipment.
- Participate in tests, demonstrations, and field instructions with the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of applicable electrical code, such as the National Fire Protection Association’s National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Show understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, grounding and bonding, overcurrent protection, load calculations, and electrical safety.
- HS diploma + 10 years of relevant experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing on large vertical DoD construction projects.
- US citizenship required.
- Up to 50% of the time the position requires moving around indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain and variable environmental conditions including heat, dust, noise, moisture, and dryness.
- Occasionally (10‑25% of workday) perform repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, work at heights, and lift and carry equipment weighing less than 25 pounds.
- At times the position requires working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds.
- Position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection.
- Experience on similar DoD installations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications, one‑line diagrams, equipment submittals, manufacturer installation instructions.
- Experience in both overhead and underground electrical power utility distribution systems, single and 3‑phase.
- Prior USACE experience.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and RMS.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

CompensationOffered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $52 to $63 per hour.
