Senior Estimator
Location:
Atlanta, GA Salary: $100K-$150K base (salary depends on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction estimating for ground-up, design-build, and at-risk projects. The Senior Estimator will develop accurate cost estimates, perform comprehensive take-offs, and collaborate with preconstruction and project teams to produce GMP and bid-ready proposals. This role requires strong leadership, advanced knowledge of earthworks and construction estimating, and proficiency with industry tools such as Procore and Primavera.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead take-offs and prepare detailed, discipline-specific cost estimates for ground-up, design-build, and construction projects, including earthworks and site development.
- Own the preconstruction estimating process from scope review through GMP submission or bid delivery, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete proposals.
- Develop and maintain cost models, unit cost databases, and historical estimate archives to improve estimating accuracy and repeatability.
- Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to validate assumptions, obtain pricing, and resolve scope clarifications.
- Manage at-risk and GMP estimate development, including contingency analysis, risk identification, and value engineering recommendations.
- Utilize Procore, Primavera, and other construction software to organize estimating data, schedules, and document control.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of progressive estimating experience in ground-up commercial building construction with a focus on ground-up and design-build projects
- Some combination of experience with Commercial, Hospitality, Multifamily, Mixed Use, Higher Education, K12, plus many others
- Demonstrated expertise in quantity take-offs, cost modeling, unit pricing, and development of GMP and at-risk estimates.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with experience leading estimating teams and collaborating across preconstruction and project management functions.
- Proficiency with estimating and project management software such as Procore, Primavera, and common take-off tools; familiarity with cost databases and Excel-based models.
