About the Role
Laborer – onsite construction work in Houston, TX and surrounding areas. Responsible for performing physical labor tasks such as site preparation, material handling, equipment setup and maintenance, and cleaning to support daily operations.
Responsibilities- Perform manual labor tasks on construction projects.
- Operate hand and power tools as directed by Foreman or Superintendent.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with their duties.
- Load, unload, haul, and hoist materials.
- Maintain a clean job site, remove debris, sweep, and secure the area each day to eliminate hazards.
- Clean and maintain equipment used on the job.
- Comply with all safety requirements and participate in safety meetings.
- Review daily task assignments and clarify material needs with the supervisor.
- Work in a safe manner and remain alert at all times.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Knowledge of construction materials, terms, and practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA Construction Industry Safety Regulations.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate man-lift and material handling equipment (forklift and/or skid steer).
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Capability to work productively under pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to identify and correct safety conditions.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- No formal education or degree required; relevant or equivalent work experience considered.
- Ability to pass drug, driving (if applicable), and background screenings.
- One (1) year experience as a Construction Laborer.
- OSHA‑30 or OSHA‑10 Construction Industry Safety Certification.
- Previous experience with underground utilities.
- Valid state driver’s license and qualifying to operate a vehicle under the Company’s Driving Policy.
Work is performed outdoors in typical construction field conditions, including elevation change, noise, weather, and dust. Occasionally may require overtime and weekend/holiday work based on project needs.
