Commercial Construction Project Manager
Malone Construction Company is looking for a Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our growing commercial team in the Atlanta metro area.
Founded in 1946, Malone is a long-standing Atlanta construction company with a strong reputation for quality, relationships, and doing things the right way. We are building on that legacy while actively growing our commercial work, including commercial interiors, tenant improvements, hospitality, restaurants, healthcare, and medical office projects.
This is a strong opportunity for a project manager who wants more than a narrow corporate role. At Malone, our PMs are true cradle-to-grave project leaders. You will be involved from preconstruction and estimating through buyout, project execution, client communication, financial management, closeout, and final turnover. You will have direct access to company leadership, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Malone’s commercial division.
TheCommercial Construction Project Manager will be responsible for managing commercial projects from start to finish.
This includes working with owners, architects, subcontractors, vendors, superintendents, and internal team members to deliver projects safely, profitably, and professionally.
The right candidate will be organized, accountable, client-facing, and comfortable taking ownership of the full project lifecycle. We are looking for someone who can protect relationships, manage details, solve problems, and drive projects across the finish line.
Responsibilities- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Participate in estimating, budgeting, scope review, and project planning.
- Lead subcontractor buyout, scope development, and contract coordination.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking.
- Coordinate with superintendents to support field operations and resolve project issues.
- Communicate professionally with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Track project financial performance and protect project margin.
- Identify risks early and develop solutions before they become larger problems.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear documentation.
- Manage closeout, punch list, turnover, and final project completion.
- Represent Malone Construction in a professional, relationship-focused manner.
The ideal candidate has proven commercial construction project management experience and the ability to manage projects cradle to grave. Exact years of experience are less important than demonstrated ownership, judgment, communication, and execution.
Strong candidates may have experience with:
- Commercial interiors and tenant improvements
- Hospitality and restaurant projects
- Healthcare or medical office construction
- Renovations in occupied or active environments
- Fast-paced schedules and client-facing project delivery
- Managing subcontractors, budgets, change orders, and schedules
- Commercial construction project management experience required.
- Ability to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working directly with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and field staff.
- Strong understanding of budgets, schedules, scopes, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems under pressure.
- Experience with construction management software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, or similar tools preferred.
- Must be local to the Atlanta metro area.
