The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16‑mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors.
With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
The Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading field geomatics operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company and industry standards. They manage and train Geomatics Operators, oversee data collection and analysis, and maintain precision in field operations. The role includes supervising staff, managing advanced geomatics equipment, and ensuring quality control in collected data.
Job Description- Provide precise work control lines and elevations essential for accurate measurements and correct material installation by field crews, ensuring alignment with design specifications and construction plans.
- Perform layout assignments with competence and accuracy, following directives from the Survey Manager and adapting methods to field conditions as needed.
- Support the evaluation of potential dimensional variances and resolve field‑related issues that may impact construction progress or design intent.
- Verify and document as‑built conditions using appropriate surveying techniques to ensure compliance and facilitate accurate project records.
- Conduct topographic and cross‑section surveys to support planning activities, progress tracking, and quantity measurement for billing or reporting purposes.
- Assist in calculating volumes and quantities related to earthwork, materials, and structural elements, providing data that supports project planning and control.
- Supervise field survey teams, coordinating daily tasks, monitoring performance, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and technical precision.
- Collaborate with engineers, superintendents, and project managers to communicate field data, resolve discrepancies, and align survey outputs with construction requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field preferred. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in surveying and land mapping on construction sites.
- LSIT (Land Surveyor In Training) certification strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to train, guide, and direct field personnel on active construction projects.
- Familiarity with topographic and cross‑section survey methods to support planning, design, and material quantity estimation.
- Strong communication skills, with demonstrated experience coordinating with engineering teams and project management on‑site.
- Proficiency with modern survey instruments, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to company and industry safety standards.
