Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil / Sitework
Description:
As Senior Estimator, will have direct oversight of bid strategies while making sure best practices and all bid tasks are executed in each phase of the bid process. This leadership role will require continuous communication with Project Management throughout the research & planning phases of each pursuit to ensure all strategic advantages and risks are identified and addressed. Projects will focus on complete sitework packages for residential subdivisions and commercial / industrial sites.
Majority of projects will range in size from $2MM - $20MM.
Full review and understanding of plans & specs, bid deliverables and diversity programs with an overall objective of preparing accurate quantity take-offs, self‑perform costs, subcontractor scopes, vendor requests, risk sheets and a master schedule for each project being pursued. A complete understanding of these items will lead to appropriate mark‑ups for each bid submitted. Develop and mentor team members assigned to expanding pre‑construction team.
Build productive, working relationships with vendors & subs, engineers, clients, and industry trade associations. Always be prepared to support business development duties being spearheaded by executive leadership and project management. Analyze bid hit rates, project performance of awarded bids, competition in key markets all with an objective of refining future bid strategies and identifying opportunities for increased market share in specific areas.
5+ years of experience in assembling complete bids while following guidelines and best practices. Possesses a technical understanding of the following scopes: clearing, mass excavation, utilities including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain and earth retention, grading, erosion control, aggregates placement, pavement and retaining walls. Ability to utilize industry technology including software for take‑offs, bidding & GPS models and accounting.
Salary:110k - 140k base salary + full range of comprehensive benefits (details to be provided to qualified individuals).
