Brasfield & Gorrie has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Pipe Preconstruction Manager to assist with mechanical pipe self-perform pursuits across multiple divisions within our Heavy Civil market sectors.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Estimate construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for material and equipment for process piping systems and associated process equipment.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment and subcontractor costs using historical data, industry trend and estimating software.
  • Review plans, specifications, proposals and P&IDs to fully understand project scope, requirements and conditions.
  • Solicit and review pricing for materials, equipment and specialized subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of thorough, clearly structured, and detailed estimates and proposals for presentation to management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field;
    Or acceptable construction experience
  • 3-10 years experience managing or estimating below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
  • Experience in managing the construction or estimating construction costs for below grade and/or above grade mechanical pipe scopes.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
  • Exceptional mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize resources.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-perform production knowledge.
  • Quantity survey experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of estimating software.
  • Experience representing company with industry and community organizations.
