Mission Hires is partnering with a long‑standing Atlanta‑based commercial general contractor (30+ years) to hire a Construction Project Manager. This PM will lead multiple ground‑up commercial projects—particularly grocery (Publix, Kroger) and big‑box retail (Target, Walmart)—from award through closeout, acting as an entrepreneurial owner of schedule, budget, quality, and client relationships. Compensation includes $100–120k base DOE, annual profit sharing, free healthcare premiums, 401(k) with match, PTO, and holidays.
Responsibilities- Oversee multiple ground‑up commercial projects from award through closeout
- Support preconstruction and estimating to develop competitive budgets
- Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms
- Collaborate closely with field staff to execute work safely, on time, and within budget
- Create, maintain, and update project schedules and milestones
- Manage change orders, including pricing, documentation, and approvals
- Administer RFIs and submittals to ensure timely resolution and compliance
- Drive client communication to build trust and long‑term partnerships
- Monitor project costs, quantities, and progress; report status to stakeholders
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to contract documents
- Coordinate with design teams, AHJs, and inspectors as needed
- Lead project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and turnover documentation
- Bachelor’s degree required (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of construction project management experience
- Proven experience delivering ground‑up commercial projects (grocery and/or big‑box retail preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from precon through closeout
- Demonstrated skill in vendor/subcontractor negotiation and buyout
- Proficiency with project scheduling and budget/cost controls
- Hands‑on experience processing change orders, RFIs, and submittals
- Strong collaboration with field operations and trade partners
- Client‑focused communicator with relationship‑building mindset
- Some estimating experience or willingness to assist in estimating as needed
- Competitive Salary: $100-120k DOE
