Quest Group is actively recruiting for a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous estimating experience in either the building materials industry or the electrical contracting industry
. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans and specifications, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and helping ensure competitive, profitable bids.
The successful candidate is analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid document
- Prepare accurate material, labor, and equipment cost estimate
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software and construction drawing
- Develop competitive project proposals and bid package
- Collaborate with sales, project management, purchasing, and operations team
- Maintain current pricing databases and estimate documentation
- Identify potential project risks and value engineering opportunities
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as require
- Support project handoff after contract award by providing estimating documentation and assumption
- Monitor market pricing trends and supplier availabilities
- 2+ years of estimating experience in one or more of the following
- Building materials
- Electrical contracting
- Construction supply
- Commercial or residential construction
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Experience with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, Accubid, McCormick, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of construction codes and industry standard
- ERP or inventory management software experience
- Associate s or bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required
