Field Engineer - Concrete Construction

An established and growing commercial and industrial concrete contractor is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to support field operations on commercial concrete construction projects throughout Georgia. Position Summary:

The Field Engineer serves as a key link between the project management team and field operations. This role is responsible for supporting project execution through layout, documentation, quality control, scheduling, material coordination, and communication between the office and job site. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn while working alongside experienced construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with daily field operations.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Perform field layout and verify dimensions using surveying equipment.
• Track daily production, labor hours, quantities installed, and project progress.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, project logs, and photo documentation.
• Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities received.
• Ensure crews are working from the latest approved drawings and project documents.
• Assist with quality control inspections and verify work meets project specifications and ACI standards.
• Monitor project schedules and communicate potential delays or conflicts.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing look-ahead schedules and planning upcoming work activities.
• Support project cost tracking through quantity verification and production reporting.
• Help identify field issues and assist in developing practical solutions.
• Ensure project documentation is complete and organized.
• Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a professional, organized, and safe job site.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 1–5 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial concrete construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field operations.
• Experience with surveying equipment and construction layout is preferred.
• Knowledge of concrete construction methods and ACI standards is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, or similar construction software is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Georgia.

Preferred

Certifications:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• CPR & First Aid
• Construction Survey/Layout Experience
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician (preferred but not required)
