Travelling Superintendent
We are currently partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor that currently have an opening for a Travelling Superintendent to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the road, taking ownership of projects from groundbreaking through to closeout, and working with a contractor that has a strong pipeline of repeat business.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects from site mobilization through to final handover.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules while working closely with the Project Manager to achieve key project milestones.
- Conduct daily site walks, toolbox talks and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and proactively resolve site issues before they impact the schedule.
- Review drawings and specifications, ensuring work is completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage punch lists, inspections and project closeout, ensuring a smooth handover to the client.
- Travel extensively throughout the East Coast, with projects focused on retail, commercial and light industrial construction.
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent within commercial construction. Experience delivering retail, commercial or light industrial projects. Strong understanding of scheduling, safety, quality control and subcontractor management. Ability to lead teams and maintain excellent client relationships. Willingness to travel across the East Coast. OSHA certification is preferred.
