Senior Estimator | Heavy Highway​/DOT | Metro Atlanta, GA

Lead estimating for complex heavy highway and DOT projects from initial plan review through final bid. This senior contractor-side role focuses on building accurate, competitive, production-based estimates across roadway, structures, earthwork, drainage, utilities, and related civil scopes.

• Established heavy civil contractor delivering transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Georgia and the Southeast.
• Strong backlog across highway, structures, earthwork, drainage, utilities, and related DOT work.
• Collaborative estimating and operations team with long-term growth opportunities.
• Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

• Lead mid- to large-scale highway and DOT estimates from takeoff through final bid submission.
• Review plans, specifications, quantities, addenda, schedules, and project requirements.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production-based pricing.
• Estimate roadway, earthwork, grading, drainage, utilities, concrete, bridges, retaining walls, and related civil scopes.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing and identify scope gaps.
• Develop bid strategy, schedules, risk assessments, and final pricing with estimating and operations leadership.
• Participate in bid reviews and support project turnover after award.
• Use historical cost and production data to improve estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
• Mentor junior estimators and estimating support staff as needed.

• 7+ years of heavy highway or heavy civil estimating experience.
• Proven ability to independently lead estimates from takeoff through final bid.
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil means and methods, production rates, crews, equipment, and self-perform pricing.
• DOT experience required;
  Georgia DOT experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid and Bluebeam.
• Experience estimating multiple roadway, structures, and civil scopes.
• Ability to manage multiple complex bids accurately and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
