The Assistant Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is an entry-level EHS position. The individual who starts in this role is typically someone coming out of the trades or a new graduate just starting in the field. The Assistant EHS Coordinator may report to a project-based EHS Manager or be placed on a smaller project by themselves. Provide safety support and technical assistance to project teams and be an excellent role model for Skanska and subcontractor personnel.

Support project teams in identifying and providing solutions for construction and environmental hazards.

The Assistant EHS Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with working conditions, local and corporate occupational safety and health regulations and procedures. Responsibilities may include inspecting machinery, equipment, and other working conditions in project sites. Observes workers to determine the use of prescribed and proper safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, respirators, fall protection, and clothing.

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
• Strong written communication skills
• Skilled in Microsoft Word and Outlook
