Job SummaryGrady Health System, Georgia's largest safety-net hospital and a national leader in trauma and public health care, is seeking a dynamic Chief of Dental Services. The Chief of Dental Services will play a pivotal role in providing both administrative and clinical leadership within our dental department. This position is vital in ensuring that performance measures are met, overseeing the assessment and management of oral health concerns related to our diverse population, and guiding our dedicated team.
Additionally, they will participate in research initiatives focused on dental care for HIV-infected individuals and take charge of grant activities, including bringing in added resources. A key component of this position is managing the Advanced Education in Dentistry (AEGD) program at Grady's Oral Health Center.
- Lead and direct Dental Services to achieve optimal outcomes
- Deliver patient care in accordance with established standards of dentistry
- Maintain accurate records and files assigned to ensure compliance and efficient operations
- Manage the AEGD residency program
- Develop new, innovative ideas using an entrepreneurial and creative approach that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries within the industry regarding research
- Manage grant funds
- Champion a system-wide culture of continuous learning, safety, health equity, and just culture
- Provide leadership education and staff training, fostering a productive and professional work environment
- Lead by example and drive the organization's performance with an attitude of continuous improvement by being open to feedback and self-improvement
- Collaborate with community partners and patients to co-design improvements in access, experience, and outcomes
- Other duties as assigned
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
- Eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional dental practice, demonstrating a commitment to ambitious standards of patient care
- Experience in a large, complex urban health system or public safety-net institution
- Deep understanding of health equity, population health, and community-based care models
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change
- Effective communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A strong history in research and grant activities
- Commitment to Grady's mission of providing equitable care to underserved communities
