The Senior Project Manager - Healthcare Architecture is an experienced and skilled Architect, Project Manager, and Client Relationship Manager that has primary responsibility for a broad scope of projects, clients, and/or a market segment/region. In addition to Service Delivery, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for business development and the oversight and development of staff.
The Senior Project Manager - Healthcare Architecture is responsible for managing a variety of projects and ensuring successful delivery while fostering client relationships and leading a team.
Responsibilities- Staff Management and Development: Manages staff with direct and "dotted-line" responsibility. Delivers training to staff, as well as ongoing development and mentorship of Project Managers and Architects.
- Profitability: Responsible for project profitability in their region or assigned scope.
- Business Development: Pursues and secures new business and new clients within region or assigned customer segment.
- Industry Leadership and Networking: Takes a leadership role in industry and client events, industry associations, affiliate organizations, etc.
- Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Keeps themselves and the firm attuned and current to emerging technologies, practices, and tools (e.g., AI).
- Financial and Resource Budgeting: Responsible for assigning hours and managing budgets to ensure profitability.
- Internal and External Partners: Prepares contracts, identifying additional services, and contracting with consultants to work on project team (Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Physicist).
- Design team and workflow: Manages the activities of Project Coordinators, Architects, Designers, support staff, vendors, and contractors for timely and effective project completion.
- Project Management: Manages large and complex design projects in the Healthcare Sector that include ground up MOB’s, imaging centers, surgery centers and hospitals. Effectively manages collaboration and communication between all parties, including clients, vendors, and firm resources. Manages budgeting and budget adherence, implementation, and completion. Monitors and reviews work by staff to ensure adherence to all relevant codes and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited institution which is a NAVA Accredited School (5 yr degree) or, alternatively, a 4 year degree + graduate degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with 6 years in the Healthcare Sector preferred (or an equivalent combination of work experience, mastery of skills, leadership, and relevant industry experience).
- Must have expertise in all phases of Healthcare Architecture and Design Project Management including Construction Administration, product specifications, and quality control with the ability to guide staff and clients.
- Required License:
Registered Architect (RA)
- Desired Certification: NCARB
- Preferred Affiliations: AIA
- Encouraged to be certified in other related organizations of interest such as LEED, WELL or Evidence-Based Design
