Senior Director of CPG/Product Design

The Senior Director of CPG/Product Design is the strategic and creative lead responsible for guiding the development of product designs from early-stage concept translation through to refined, review‑ready visualization across core, seasonal, and licensed lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of product designs across categories ensuring they are emotionally resonant, brand-aligned, and commercially scalable.
  • Translate upstream concept inputs (e.g., sketches, storyboards, seasonal themes) into dimensional product designs that balance visual storytelling with function and manufacturability.
  • Oversee the Industrial Design and Toy Design teams, providing day‑to‑day direction, creative feedback, and mentorship.
  • Drive the review, refinement, and stakeholder alignment process, collaborating cross-functionally to achieve internal approvals, line integration, and timeline clarity.
  • Ensure design outputs reflect both the Santa verse’s world building and the product’s physical interaction goals, integrating tactile play, form hierarchy, and consumer delight.
  • Collaborate with the Concept and Ideation team on the review of concept decks, seasonal product visualizations, and pitch presentations to ensure alignment across all product and packaging.
  • Deliver robust product visualizations including concept sketches, CADs, 3D renders, and mockup inputs.
  • Collaborate with the Structural Packaging team to align packaging form with product design, ensuring dimensional harmony and storytelling cohesion.
  • Support product storytelling within sell‑in tools, retail mockups, and cross‑functional merchandising planning.
  • Act as the conduit between creative ideation and product development, providing clear, execution‑ready deliverables to Product Development and Sourcing Teams.
  • Maintain awareness of materials, manufacturing techniques, and innovation opportunities in the CPG/toy space.
  • Key Interfaces
    • Concept & Ideation Team:

    • Packaging Design Team:

    • Creative Operations & Program Management:
Ensures review cycles, deliverables, and milestones are aligned and trackable.
    • Sales, Licensing, and Retail Strategy:
Supports line planning and retail visualization as needed.
Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in product design, industrial design, or toy design, preferably in licensing, entertainment, or storytelling‑driven brands.
