Emory Specialty Associates Division of Hospital Medicine

Emory Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine. This position is for an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician.

• Devote total professional effort to professional service.
• Perform inpatient hospital medicine duties: history and physical examinations of patients being admitted; assess acuity and ensure proper level of care; provide bedside procedures as required and credentialed for; provide consultation services for specialty provider partners; order consultations from specialty provider partners; initiate contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
• On some months, work with trainees, which may include allied health professionals.
• Maintain clinical schedule in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and according to actual clinical effort.
• Attend to the needs of all patients within scope of licensing, training and credentialing.
• Participate in on‑call duties and actively participate in meetings and committees.
• Practice medicine within the current scope of national patient safety goals.

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
• Board eligible or board certified preferred.
• Valid DEA certificate without restriction.
• Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate.
