Overview
Atlanta, GA VA Medical Center is searching for BE/BC Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physicians to join their dynamic healthcare teams.
LocationsOpenings are located in Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Rome, GA, as well as in Carrollton, GA, Marietta, GA, Pickens, GA, Blairsville, GA, Pike, GA, and Newnan, GA.
Role DescriptionThe primary care physician works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating with other members to provide medical care to veterans enrolled on the team. The physician is expected to demonstrate advanced competencies and skills in assessing the physical and psychological status of patients, providing comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to veterans in the primary care team setting.
As a physician, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans.
Our facility seeks individuals who possess strong organizational skills, ability to lead a patient-centered program, and effective communication with patients, families, visitors, and interdisciplinary team members.
Technology & Patient PanelThe VA Healthcare System uses a comprehensive electronic medical record and follows a patient-centered medical home model. Physicians will be assigned a patient panel of 1000–1200 patients.
Work HoursMonday–Friday 8am–4:30pm.
Salary & BenefitsBase salary: 265K per year (negotiable) with benefits. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized for a highly qualified candidate. Selected candidates may be eligible for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) based on funds availability.
Qualifications Required- Citizenship
:
Citizen of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens. - Licensure
:
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. - Education
:
Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a school approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. - Physical Standards
:
All applicants must meet the physical requirements established for this position. - Board Certification
:
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
