Position Summary
We invite applications for a Teaching Postdoctoral Fellow position, beginning August 2026. Field of specialization is open. The postdoctoral fellow will teach a 2/2 load, primarily at the introductory and intermediate levels for non‑majors and prospective majors. The fellowship is a one‑year program, renewable annually pending a successful performance review, for up to three years total.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a 2/2 load of introductory and intermediate courses for non‑majors and prospective majors in a liberal arts environment that emphasizes active learning and close faculty‑student interaction.
- Engage students in a liberal arts learning community that values inclusive pedagogy, intellectual life and the “beyond the classroom” experience.
- Participate in the academic, social and cultural life of Oxford College, leveraging institutional resources for professional development and scholarship.
The fellow will receive professional development and mentorship designed to prepare for a full‑time faculty position at a teaching‑intensive institution. Training will include inclusive pedagogy, research and grant writing support, and financial support for scholarly and pedagogical development activities.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for the postdoctoral teaching fellowship is $60,000. Fellows will receive the same benefits that are provided to regular faculty.
Qualifications- Hold a doctorate in Economics awarded within the last three years.
- ABD candidates must complete all doctoral requirements by August 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated interest in teaching first‑ and second‑year courses to non‑majors/prospective majors within a liberal arts setting.
