Head of Lower School
- Partner with your Lead Teacher to implement grade-level curriculum, analyze student data, and design differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners
- Supervise and engage with students throughout the school day - in the classroom, dining hall, playground, and across campus - creating a safe, consistent, and supportive environment
- Participate in assessing students through a variety of methods, including administering reading and math assessments, conferring with students one-on-one, and contributing insights for report cards and parent conferences
- Embrace and model Lovett's Core Values in daily interactions with students, colleagues, and families
- Foster a classroom environment that honors student voice, cultivates compassion for others, and nurtures the social, emotional, and academic growth of every child
- Respond flexibly to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring every student feels seen and supported
- Participate in the Associate Teacher Fellowship, a structured program designed to support your development as an educator through mentorship, professional learning, and collaborative practice
- Engage in ongoing professional development during the school year and summer, building expertise in best practices for elementary education
- Collaborate with colleagues within and beyond your grade level on instructional planning, student support, and advancing Lovett's mission
- Foster positive partnerships with Lovett families, communicating clearly and compassionately about student progress and classroom life
- Attend faculty and team meetings, chapel services, Open House, parent-teacher conferences, admission observations, and school-sponsored events
- Contribute to the broader Lower School community through additional duties as assigned
- Education:
Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree in Elementary Education preferred - Experience & Training:
Some experience and/or training in structured literacy, Orton‑Gillingham, Understanding by Design, and Responsive Classroom is preferred (but not required—we value your willingness to learn!) - Mindset:
