Adjunct Instructor - Welding (Part-Time)

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor – Welding (Part-Time) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technology department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technology and the Chair of the Welding & Joining department, the Adjunct Instructor – Welding (Part-Time) will be responsible for teaching within the Welding and Joining department. This is a part‑time position, up to twenty‑nine (
29
) hours per week, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrate varying techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Providing guidance and advisement to students as they matriculate through the welding and joining program.
  • Maintain a classroom and lab environment that is safe and conducive for all students.
  • Assisting with managing the welding and joining lab facilities, equipment, and resources.
  • Assisting with ordering supplies and other resources.
  • Promoting safety in classrooms and labs.
  • Assisting as requested with recruitment and marketing the welding and joining program.
  • Assisting students with career planning and placement.
  • Must be available during designated work hours.
  • Evaluating student progress toward learning outcomes.
  • Administering and grading examinations; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
  • Engaging with students, staff, and faculty to support student success and address instructional concerns.
  • Assisting in the development and review of program content, syllabi, and curriculum standards.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, especially for students pursuing careers in forensic science.
  • Staying current with industry practices and technologies in forensic science and related fields.
  • Participating in professional development activities, including in‑service training, workshops, and seminars.
  • Adhere to and enforce policies and procedures outlined by the Technical College System of Georgia and ATC.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience and possession of an American Welding Society (AWS) certificate is a plus.
