Math Tutor | Pre Service Teaching Fellow

Position Overview

Math N' More is seeking dedicated Morehouse Men to serve in the Pre-Service Teaching Fellowship as Morehouse Math Mentors (M3), providing academic support and mentorship to K-12 scholars in the Metro Atlanta area. This role is more than just tutoring-it's about inspiring, guiding, and empowering young scholars to build confidence and proficiency in mathematics.

As a pre-service fellow, you will work one-on-one or in small groups to support students' Math

and ELA fluency, reinforce foundational skills, and foster a growth mindset. You'll serve as

a role model, ensuring that scholars not only succeed academically but also develop a strong

sense of self-efficacy and perseverance in their educational journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

* Serve as a mentor first, supporting students beyond academics by building relationships and providing encouragement.

* Provide academic enrichment in core content areas, adapting to the needs of K-12 scholars.

* Help students develop problem-solving skills and confidence in math.

* Maintain timely and professional communication with students and Math N' More staff.

* Collaborate with Math N' More educators to ensure effective academic support.

Requirements

* Must be a Morehouse College undergraduate student receiving work-study and financial aid.

* Strong background in mathematics (demonstrated through coursework or experience).

* Passion for working with youth and a commitment to mentorship.

* Growth mindset-believes in continuous learning and student potential.

* Reliable Transportation and punctual in meeting commitments to scholars.
