About the Writing and Communication Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology

A unit of the School of Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC), WCP teaches over 6,000 students a year in first-year composition, business/technical communication, research writing, and learning support. Committed to excellent teaching and faculty professional development, WCP is the winner of multiple awards in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Job Summary

The Writing and Communication Program (WCP) in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple Lecturer positions, effective August 1, 2026. Lecturers in the Writing and Communication Program teach a 3/3 in writing classes, pursue relevant research, and provide service to the Program and Institute. This is a faculty position with full benefits that is renewable annually.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

In addition to full faculty benefits, including health insurance and retirement, Georgia Tech has a career track that affords successful lecturers the possibility to apply for promotion, first to Senior Lecturer and then to Principal Lecturer.

Lectures primarily teach first-year writing and technical communication. Courses in our first-year writing program combine the instructor
¿ s area of research expertise with the commitments to rhetoric, process and multimodality that unites and defines WCP courses.
