Team

The Preschool Team provides a supportive, play‑based learning environment and adheres to the highest standards, as recognized by its NAEYC Accreditation. With low child‑to‑teacher ratios, team members focus on meeting each child's individual needs. The team also values continuous learning, offering opportunities for training, professional development, and collaboration to create an innovative and nurturing space for young learners.

The Role

The preschool seeks a caring, dedicated Infant/Toddler Assistant Teacher to support children during this extraordinary stage of growth and discovery. This position plays an essential role in creating a nurturing, responsive environment where the youngest learners feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team member who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering each child’s social, emotional, and physical development. Strong candidates bring a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and experience working with infants and toddlers, along with a willingness to learn and grow alongside a supportive teaching team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nurturing care to support the social, emotional, and physical needs of each child.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM.
  • Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans with the teaching team.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with families, including updates about children’s progress and needs (via phone calls, newsletters, and conferences).
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and professional development opportunities to foster personal and team growth.
  • Ensure children’s safety and well‑being at all times.

Requirements
  • Experience working with young children and an understanding of their social, emotional, and creative needs.
  • A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development (preferred but not required).
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a childcare or preschool setting (preferred but not required).
Work Environment
  • Indoor/outdoor classroom environment.
  • Outdoor natural learning spaces.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and engage in activities at the child’s level.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist children.
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials and monitor student activities.
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally.

This is an hourly, non‑exempt position.
