- 90% Teaching:
Teach Physics and/or Astronomy lectures and laboratory courses. - 10% Service:
Participate in service activities supporting the department.
- MS degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics or related discipline.
- Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching ability.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and ability in all other duties assigned.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
- Doctorate in Physics or related discipline.
- Teaching experience.
Academic year based, August through May. Full-time equivalent: 1.0. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, training, etc., and consider internal equity and market data. Advancement through faculty ranks occurs via the Promotion and Tenure process.
