Job Description
The ISS Assistant Director is a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for overseeing compliance with all instructional support programs, as it relates to individual student achievement and to the overall academic performance of students participating in instructional support programs in an online environment. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential student progress monitoring records and will work to support training for teachers and administrators in the use of interventions and data to improve instruction and student learning outcomes.

This position will also oversee the design and development of reports as requested for internal and external stakeholder reporting. The Assistant Director also provides support and guidance to district staff and helps manage the 504, ESOL, Hospital Homebound, MTSS, and PBIS programs to focus on students' individual needs. This position supports the ISS Director in other administrative duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the process of analyzing local, state, and national assessment data as it relates to individual student and school performance, as well as district improvement, focused on at-risk students
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of historical student, school, and district data files to monitor and track performance
  • Interpret and review assessment data with district staff, administrators, and teachers
  • Oversee the creation of spreadsheets to disaggregate data based on student subgroup, grade level, and school performance
  • Oversee the compilation of data from multiple sources to develop teacher, student, school and/or district achievement profiles
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of monthly data for reporting to various stakeholders and for school board reports
  • Ensure the validity of all data presented to staff and stakeholders
  • Work with faculty and staff in schools to conduct training regarding the implementation of MTSS Academic and Behavior programs, 504 Plans, ESOL, and Hospital Homebound Services in order to improve instruction and to target academic achievement where learning and achievement gaps are present
  • Meets with administration, collaborating teachers, students, parents, and Learning Coaches to discuss student progress and instructional supports through the MTSS, ESOL, and 504 processes as needed
  • Participates in the development of the MTSS Academic, Speech, and Behavior programs, ESOL, 504 program, and Hospital Homebound program
  • Assists in planning and proctoring iReady and ACCESS screening assessments
  • Assists in providing consultation and direction to teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding the provision of MTSS Academic, Speech, and Behavior intervention, ESOL, and 504 Plan services
  • Reviews MTSS Academic, Speech, and Behavior programs, ESOL, 504 Plans, and Hospital Homebound eligibility referral process and documentation of EIP, ESOL, 504 Plans, and Hospital Homebound for compliance
  • Drafts, edits, and disseminates all approved letters, forms, and templates related to MTSS Academic and Behavior programs, ESOL program, Hospital Homebound program, and 504 Plans initiatives
  • Assists in developing the annual MTSS Academic, Speech, and Behavior Interventions and ESOL Program calendar in collaboration with school-based staff
  • Assists in coordinating and providing professional development opportunities to increase rigorous and supportive instructional practice to include regular PLC meetings, trainings, model-lessons, and individual conferences
